She’s got the looks
I was first drawn towards Caramel Ice because of the sizable cola/nug structure of the strain. The sizable nugs are covered in caramel hairs and frosted with trichomes. One could spot these caramel colored shining nugs from across the room. Once the jar was opened it was game over...
Oooo Wee What's that Smell!?
The nose/scent of this strain is intoxicatingly sweet. Caramel Ice has a complex nose that is sweet and earthy, with hints of lemon and pine. The smell transported me to a country bakery with fresh sweet buns with lemon icing. You can't help but smile after taking a whiff of Caramel Ice. The earthy aroma is a good indicator of the terpene a. Humulene and ß. Caryophyllene. Both of these terpenes help to reduce both pain and inflammation. The sweet lemon scent hints to the terpenes Linalool, Myrcene, and Limonene, which all have anti-depressant and anti-anxiety properties to them. Myrcene, at a certain amount, can be a potent sedative which is why this strain is classified a 70% Indica.
The Taste
I sampled the Caramel Ice using the PAX 2 ($265 at HMH). After becoming acquainted with this vaporizer, I am reluctant to use anything else. The Carmel Ice vapor is thick, creamy and smooth. The flavor is floral, lemony, and sweet with hints of ginger. The floral taste is produced by the terpene Terpineol, which is known for its relaxing effects. The unique sweet taste of Caramel Ice can turn any frown upside down! 🙂
The Feels
I have Crohn’s Disease so I suffer from a lot of pain, nausea and appetite loss. When medicating with Caramel Ice I immediately find relief from both my pain and nausea. The effect is warm, peaceful and relaxing. I felt how melting caramel looks: warm, soothing and slowly becoming one with the couch. One of the best parts of this strain is that it provides very uplifting effects, offering the perfect blend of happy and calm. I wanted to smile and laugh; all anxiety and stress lifted and I could feel tension leaving my body. The uplifting effects enhance your senses, making everything a little bit to a lot better. After a few hours the effects slowly faded into a much deeper state of relaxation that made me want to get as cozy and warm as possible... and fall asleep.
Looks good, smells good, tastes good... must be good?
Caramel Ice has quickly become one of my all time favorite strains. There are few strains that have the ability to immediately take away my pain and nausea. If I am sick or having a minor flare, this strain has become my go to. I would highly recommend this strain for anyone who is looking to relieve any sort of pain, stress, depression or anxiety. This strain is a great appetite stimulant as well. Caramel Ice and ice cream? Yes please.
In conclusion, Caramel Ice is a phenomenal strain. It is the perfect strain to melt away your stress, making everything sweet, smiley, and sleepy.
